The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 came into force on the 1 January 2005. This section
sets out the Publication Scheme for the Attorney General's
Office (AGO), as required by section 19 of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. The purpose of this Scheme is to identify
classes of information, which are (or which will be) published
so that the information is readily available to the public. For general information see the websites for the Ministry of Justice and the Information Commissioner's Office.
It should
be noted, however, that although
this scheme relates primarily to the work of the AGO, the
close relationship between this Department and TSol is such
that there is a degree of overlap. Because AGO is so small,
certain of its key functions such as finance and personnel
issues - are carried out on its behalf by TSol and are subject
to TSols rules and conditions. Although intended to
be comprehensive, it is important, therefore, that this Publication
Scheme should be read in conjunction with the TSol's
Department Publication Scheme,
We have recorded requests for information, requests for Internal Reviews, and referrals to the Information Commissioner's Office in an FOI log. Each quarter we publish our FOI log in the relevant Disclosure log. The entries on the FOI log are coloured as follows:-
Green - FOI requests
Pink - Internal Reviews
Lilac - Referrals from the Information Commissioner's Office
Yellow - Subject Access Requests under the Data Protection Act 1988
We aim to publish this log not later than two months after the end of each quarter.
