What we are saying image

We want to end the myth that fraud is a victimless crime. Fraudsters damage lives, stealing from vulnerable people and extracting hard-earned money from law-abiding citizens.

Fraud efforts have been fragmented due to organisations working within the confines of commercial and departmental responsibilities. Counter-fraud initiatives have usually involved a small number of players and these have rarely strayed across the divide between public and private sectors.

The National Fraud Authority (NFA) is working with numerous bodies at the same time. This activity is helping break down the barriers between public and private sector operations. We are bringing together disparate operators and creating a new counter-fraud community.
